Face It® Friday: Safe Hugs Tips

Holidays bring many gatherings that can be busy and full of people, often family and friends. It is important to consider the messages about body safety we are sending to our children during this time.

By teaching our kids to say “no” to a hug or kiss, we are showing them that they have the right to refuse unwanted touches from others. It is also important that we, as adults, ask before hugging. Ensuring we communicate what safe body boundaries are, we can help keep them safe from abuse.

For more information and tips on how to talk to your loved ones about safe hugs and good boundaries check out this blog and our newest resource Body Safety 101.
