St. Joseph Children’s Home and Kosair Charities® celebrate two Silent Messenger statues on St. Joe’s  Frankfort Avenue campus and Dr. Terry Brooks, Executive Director of Kentucky Youth Advocates announces partnership between St. Joe’s and Face It® Movement

What: St. Joseph Children’s Home and Kosair Charities Silent Messenger statue celebration; announcement of St. Joe’s partnership with Face It® Movement to end child abuse in Kentucky

When: Thursday, July 14, 10:00 a.m.

Where: St. Joseph Children’s Home, 2823 Frankfort Avenue Louisville, KY 40206, front lawn

St. Joseph Children’s Home will host a celebration of two new Kosair Charities Silent Messenger statues located on St. Joe’s Frankfort Avenue campus. The statues are located at Frankfort Avenue and Brownsboro Road entrances to the property. Last year Kosair Charities committed $1 million to St. Joe’s kids, specifically the construction of new residential cottages for up to 48 of Kentucky’s most abused and neglected children ages 5-14.

The Silent Messenger statues at St. Joe’s signify Kosair Charities’ commitment to the health and well being of kids in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. They are synonymous with the Shriners mission to help children. The celebration falls almost one year following ribbon cutting in July 2015 at which Kosair Charities announced their $1 million financial commitment.

The Face It® Movement, conceived and created in 2012 as a response to the public outcry against the increasing number of child abuse deaths in the Commonwealth, officially launched on April 9, 2013, as a 10- year initiative led by Kosair Charities; its vision is that by 2023 all children in Jefferson County will be free from abuse and neglect. Face It directly addresses the increasingly unacceptable number of child abuse deaths in Jefferson County and the surrounding areas with best practices in child abuse prevention, community engagement and the promotion of effective policies to improve the child welfare system.

The event is open the public.
