2021 TEN-4 Positive Parenting Events Recap

Leading up to TEN-4 week, a week to bring awareness to the TEN-4 Bruising Rule and emphasize the importance of adults knowing the signs and symptoms of child abuse and how to report it, The Kosair Charities® Face It® Movement and our partners at Grow Baby Grow and the KY HANDS Program hosted positive parenting events in the community with Georgia Chaffee TAPP School, Volunteers of America Freedom House, and Play Cousins Collective. During each event, parents enjoyed fun and educational events that included interactive ways for parents to connect with their children and learn about baby development. Each event included snacks, baby shower games, educational programming, connection with resources, gifts for all participants, and prize giveaways.

Since TEN-4 Week focused on recognizing and reporting abuse, we wanted to spend some time moving upstream to primary prevention as well. One of the most important ways to prevent child abuse is to provide support to parents and opportunities to connect with other parents. Parenting is a tough job, and it’s important to ensure parents have the support and resources necessary to keep them and their kids safe.

Sometimes, it does take a village. Rarely do you see such BEAUTIFUL collaborations! Thank you SO SO Much for your support and partnership!” said Kristen Williams, Executive Director of Play Cousins Collective.
