SUMMARY:Massage Clinic For Mothers Impacted by Gun Violence - Positive Parenting Event
DESCRIPTION:Massage Clinic For Mothers Impacted by Gun Violence\nApril 17th 2023  at 5:30pm-8:00pm\nAs a part of our series\, we want to nurture the moms that have been working to heal\, and offer massage. We also wish to invite new mothers in to join and see what our group offers. Two massage therapists will be available. Each mother will receive a 15 minute massage and an essential oil blend to practice a breathing and meditation technique for de-escalating negative emotions. \nTip It Forward\, The Ace Project\, and Elgina Smith\, professional grief coach\, have teamed up to provide a 6 month Healing from Grief Group with holistic healing techniques. This is a safe space offering tools to aid those impacted by gun violence and past traumas. Group will gather twice a month\, and alternate between in person and virtual sessions. DESCRIPTION:4C’s Free Virtual Training for Early Childhood Professionals\nStrengthening Families: Concrete Support in Times of Need\nFacilitator Liz Walker: \nPromoting strong\, healthy family relationships provides far-reaching benefits that go beyond the family itself. Healthy families lead to healthy children\, communities\, and economic prosperity. Strengthening Families Concrete Support in Times of Need will help you connect families to resources in times of need. Every family\, at some point\, needs support. “A time of need” can be described as the birth of a child\, supporting a child with special needs\, choosing the right center or school\, trauma\, mental illness\, violence\, or poverty. This session aims to educate providers on how to strengthen the family’s ability to access services and advocate for their needs. By the end of the session\, providers will know how to direct families to early intervention support\, and access 211\, the Louisville\, KY-based essential community services hotline. Lastly\, after attending this session you will be able to leverage the natural strengths of a family by asking powerful positive questions upon enrollment that foster deep connections from the start! \nThis workshop is free thanks to the generous sponsorship by the Kosair Charities Face It Movement. \nNotice: This is an online class.  Please make sure you include a valid email address when registering and that you have internet and email access at the time of the training.
