SUMMARY:Face It - Lunch & Learn: When Help is Hard
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Darlene Davis Goodwine on April 17 at 12 PM for a virtual Lunch and Learn. \n\nParenting can be full of joy and also chaos. It can be tough and that’s OK. We all need help\, it’s a normal part of life. Seeking help can also be hard and this conversation aims to provide real tools to make it easier. As a parent\, professional or both we can both offer help and ask for help. A panel will discuss why help is so important\, what barriers get in the way of receiving or seeking help\, and how to encourage parents to get that help.  \nGoals \nBy the end of this training\, participants will have a better understanding of: \n\nBarriers to help seeking\nBarriers to receiving help\nActionable ways to connect and offer support\nActionable ways an organization or an individual can build relationships and offer help\n\nSocial Work CEUs available. Register.

SUMMARY:EMDR Therapy Training
DESCRIPTION:Prestonsburg\, KY Part I (Monday – Wednesday) March 25-27 Part II (Monday – Wednesday) July 15-July 17; Louisville\, KY Part I (Thursday – Saturday) July 18-20 Part II (Monday – Wednesday) October 21-23 \nPayment is due no later than February 20 for Prestonsburg. Payment plans may be available for Louisville. Interested parties should email info@healingtreenonprofit.org ASAP but no later than February 15th. \nEMDR is a leading\, evidence-based\, trauma-focused treatment modality\, which is highly effective in treating the widespread conditions related to trauma. It is recommended by the World Health Organization\, American Psychological Association\, American Psychiatric Association\, Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense\, International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. EMDR has been shown as superior to Fluoxetine in treating PTSD and depression (Van der Kolk et al.\, 2007). Healing TREE (Trauma Resources\, Education & Entertainment) nonprofit\, a proud Face It partner\, facilitates and sponsors EMDR Therapy Training across Kentucky. Healing TREE has two trainings scheduled for 2024 currently; one in Prestonsburg\, KY (Part I Monday – Wednesday March 25-27 and Part II Monday – Wednesday July 15-July 17 and one in Louisville\, KY (Part I Thursday – Saturday July 18-20 and Part II Monday – Wednesday October 21-23). While Healing TREE does not anticipate that scholarships will become available over the next 8 months for folks who were added to their waitlist over the past year\, they do have some self- or organization-pay slots available for their next trainings. Since trainers of their team’s caliber typically don’t come to Kentucky\, the self/organization-pay option would still save travel and lodging costs for two separate 3 day periods or would save your employer from having to enroll and pay for 20 clinicians to be trained in order to bring the trainers directly to them. The cost is $1\,950 for the 52-hour training which includes consultation and supervision. Please visit healingtreenonprofit.org/emdr for detailed information about this training\, including certification\, curriculum\, cost details\, continuing education and eligibility. You can also see testimonials from past trainings. Payment is due no later than February 20 for Prestonsburg. Payment plans may be available for Louisville. Interested parties should email info@healingtreenonprofit.org ASAP but no later than February 15th.

SUMMARY:Children’s Advocacy Week
