SUMMARY:Seven Counties Services\, Community Collaboration for Children partners with Jenna Quinn for Webinar
DESCRIPTION:  \n \nSeven Counties Services\, Community Collaboration for Children partners with Jenna Quinn for Webinar \nWhen: Friday\, June 26\, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM EST \nWhere: This is an online event. \nIt’s estimated that 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys are sexually abused before the age of 18. The good news is that most child sexual abuse can be prevented through proper education combined with a comprehensive set of prevention policies. In this training\, participants will learn to define child sexual abuse\, facts about the problem of child sexual abuse\, the types of situations in which child sexual abuse may occur\, simple\, effective strategies for protecting children from sexual abuse\, the importance of talking to children and youth about primary prevention\, and how to recognize the indicators of sexual abuse. Moreover\, participants will learn about effective prevention policies and programs to prevent. \nHistorically\, a general increase in child abuse disclosures occurs after children have been at home for extended periods\, such as summer break and winter break. During these times\, children are away from mandatory reporters and are likely to spend more time with potential abusers. Mandatory reporters need to be prepared to recognize and report when children return from sheltering in place after COVID-19. \nRegister Now! \nFor more information contact Gloria Berry\nSeven Counties Services\n502-589-8600 x1512\ngberry@sevencounties.org

SUMMARY:Family & Children's Place- Rally to End Child Abuse
DESCRIPTION:In light of COVID-19\, Family & Children’s Place will kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month with a Virtual Rally to End Child Abuse! \n(This event replaces the in-person rally that was previously scheduled for Wednesday\, March 25.) \nIt is more important than ever before that we raise awareness about child abuse and neglect. Unfortunately\, home is not a safe place for countless children in our community who are actively being abused or neglected – even and especially in the midst of COVID-19. \nPlease join @famchildplace on Facebook\, Twitter\, and Instagram throughout the day on Wednesday\, April 1. Like\, comment on\, and share our posts as we hear from community leaders on this issue and talk about what each of us can do to stand up for vulnerable children in our community. \nLearn more here.
