DESCRIPTION:Peace Education Program to Provide Diversity Training and Non-Violent Conflict Resolution Skills to Area Youth \nTeen Leaders for Diversity Camp \nTuesday\, April 4 – Thursday\, April 6\, 9 am – 4 pm \nThe work of National Coalition Building Institute is the foundation of Peace Education Program’s diversity workshops for 12 – 17 year olds. Teens explore and deepen the basic skills around affirmation\, communication and cooperation by teaching each other how to celebrate their difference\, understand stereotypes and interrupt prejudicial acts\, remarks and slurs. We share experiences that develop personal integrity\, mutual respect\, leadership skills and the capacity to sustain positive relationships across racial\, religious and cultural differences. \nThis camp helps participants to: Get Along; Solve Problems Nonviolently; Respect differences; De-escalate conflicts; Work together in groups an Take responsibility for our actions. \nThe fee is $50 for each 3-day camp which includes snacks\, lunch and materials. \nRegistration options available on our website at peaceEducationProgram.org.

DESCRIPTION:Join Home of the Innocents on Saturday\, April 1 from 2-6 pm to kick off Child Abuse Prevention Month! Featuring the completion of a neighborhood mural representing the children served by the Home\, our family-friendly event includes interactive painting\, live bands\, food trucks\, vendors and much more! Plus\, the opportunity to learn about Home of the Innocents and our efforts to combat child abuse in our community. \n\nThe mural will be painted by Often Seen Rarely Spoken\, a local mural painting company\, on the side of Butchertown Market at 1201 Story Avenue.\n\n\n \n\n\nGuests are invited to paint a smaller version that will be installed on the Home’s campus as a gift to the children after the event. Painting can be done with a donation.\n\n\n \n\n\nFood trucks and vendors will be selling their products with a portion of all sales going to Home of the Innocents. \n\nFace It will have a booth set up.

DESCRIPTION:Local officials\, families\, law enforcement\, businesses and community agencies will join together to proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month in Northern Kentucky. Following the ceremony\, guests are invited to tie blue ribbons along the white picket fence facing the interstate to serve as a visual reminder of child victims of abuse and neglect.  A light buffet reception begins at 11:00 am hosted by Tom Gill Chevrolet with the ceremony beginning at 12:00 pm. \nThe event is free and open to the public.  RSVP requested but not required.
