SUMMARY:Kentucky Youth Advocates - 2024 Kentucky KIDS COUNT Data Book Launch
DESCRIPTION:Join Kentucky Youth Advocates on November 20th as we launch the 2024 Kentucky KIDS COUNT Data Book. We invite you to celebrate with us as we share highlights and recommendations from the publication\, which for 34 years has allowed readers and leaders to investigate areas that Kentucky counties are making progress and areas that need focused attention for improvement.\nBecause it is seen and used by groups of youth in Eastern Kentucky to Cabinet secretaries in Frankfort\, KIDS COUNT data is a catalyst for change. We at KYA use the data as the foundation for policy recommendations\, and many others across the state — including educators\, government officials\, social workers\, and more — utilize the book for everything from grant proposals to classroom materials. Your support of KYA helps make it possible for us to collect\, analyze\, and share this annual “report card for kids\,” and we hope you can join us next month as we unveil the latest findings.\nThe 2024 Kentucky KIDS COUNT Project was made possible with support from the Annie E. Casey Foundation and KIDS COUNT sponsors\, including Aetna® Better Health of Kentucky\, Kosair for Kids®\, Kentucky United Methodist Children’s Homes\, Mountain Comprehensive Care Center\, and Western Kentucky University’s LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research. SUMMARY:Spina Bifida Association of Kentucky
DESCRIPTION:The Walk-n-Roll for Spina Bifida is a peer-to-peer fundraiser and a celebration of the spina bifida community. The “walk” portion is a quick family-friendly stroll and is ceremonial in nature\, meant to honor all the ways individuals with spina bifida can access the community. Whether they walk unassisted\, use assistive technology like walkers\, gait trainers\, orthotics\, or roll along in a wheelchair\, stroller\, or wagon\, we come together to walk-n-roll for spina bifida. After the walk\, we celebrate with a fall festival that includes food\, games\, bounce houses\, prizes\, and awards.
