Face It® Friday: Busy Breaks
Having your kids home for holiday break means more time spent together; however, as your holiday to-do list grows it can be challenging to keep your kids busy. Below are some great (and affordable) ways to keep you kids busy and happy over their winter breaks.
1. Bubble Wrap Run: Have leftover bubble wrap from packing gifts? Lay it out on the floor and let kids jump, run, crawl all over it. To make it even more entertaining, challenge your little one to not pop any bubbles for an extra-focused activity. For more tips like this, check out this Buzzfeed article on “32 Easy And Inexpensive Ways To Keep Kids Entertained This Holiday Season.”
2. Write Thank-you Notes: This one is great because kids get to draw, practice their writing skills, and also complete some thank-you notes for any gifts they’ve received. For more tips, like how to use your local bookstore as a getaway, check out this resource by Cafemom on “8 Smart Ways to Keep Kids Busy Over Winter Break.”
3. Create a “Sensory Bin”: Sensory bins are a way for your child to self-occupy and also have fun with experience new senses (like rice or dough). Check out some ideas on how to make sensory bins and other ideas on keeping you kids busy with this U.S. News article.
