The Face It® Movement, conceived and created in 2012 as a response to the public outcry against the increasing number of child abuse deaths in the Commonwealth, officially launched in April 2013 as an initiative led by Kosair Charities. Face It directly addresses the unacceptable incidences of child abuse and neglect in Kentucky with the promotion of best practices in child abuse prevention and intervention, engaging the community, and advocating for effective policies to improve the child welfare system.
Kids don’t come with instruction manuals. Parenting is tough, and caring for a child is one of the most important jobs an adult can do. This includes keeping children safe from harm.
Everyone has a role in ensuring communities are safe places for children to grow and thrive.
As professionals, it is our job to ensure children are safe in our care as well as recognize when the children we work with may be at risk of harm and know how we can best respond.
All Kentuckians are mandated reporters. If you believe a child is being abused or neglected, call the Child Protection Hotline.
