Indoor Family Fun for Cold Days!

Although winter isn’t officially here, it’s definitely cold in most parts of Kentucky!

In the coming weeks, schools will be out for winter break meaning most kids will be spending time at home with parents or caregivers. Keeping children occupied for an extended amount of time can be challenging so we came up with and borrowed a few inexpensive indoor activities for those winter days when it’s too cold to play outside.

1. Grab some food coloring and snow, place it in a bin and let your kids paint!

2. Have an indoor campout with pillows, tents and tons of blankets. This is a fun way to get their imaginations going. You could even make smores!

3. Have an indoor scavenger hunt. You can hide various toys and have clues around the house that will keep them busy solving riddles and working as a team. Leave a “treasure chest” at the end with a few treats for an extra special surprise.

Find more ideas for indoor activities at Today’s Kids and BuzzFeed.

Simply spending time with your child and listening to their stories will make them smile.
So no matter what activity you decide to do, they’ll be happy to just be with you.
