Social Work Month 2025 is Social Work: Compassion + Action

Each day social workers touch millions of lives. In fact, you, a family member, or a friend have likely already been helped by a social worker. Social workers are everywhere in our communities; working in schools, hospitals, mental health care facilities, veteran centers, child welfare agencies and in local, state, and federal government.

Social workers (and other helping professionals) often work in demanding contexts and help people process difficult situations. They empower people by giving them the skills, knowledge, resources, and encouragement to overcome life’s challenges. Social workers help educate parents on positive parenting, how to prioritize self-care, help caregivers build resilient children and families, and help to identify and break down barriers to positive parenting.

Social workers across the commonwealth work hard everyday to ensure children are safe and secure, connect families to the resources they need, advocate for the most vulnerable, and so much more. Social workers play a critical role in keeping kids safe and helping to build strong families. Many of the Kosair for Kids Face It Movement’s most active partners are social workers! So, THANK YOU social workers, we appreciate YOU!
