Permission to Play: Addressing Trauma through Play for Parents/Guardians
August 10, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FREE, VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
Nearly every child encounters some level of stress. Some children experience daily stresses that can lead to lasting trauma and poor health. Providing opportunities for play is one way to improve the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional health for all children, especially those dealing with toxic levels of stress. This workshop explores how true play supports children’s health and includes easy-to-implement strategies to value play as a healthy part of childhood. Think of this workshop as your permission slip to use play to interact and support your children!
This two-part workshop includes strategies to implement play as part of your parenting along with ways to reframe how you value play for the children you care for. We ask participants to commit to both parts of the workshop.
August 10 and August 17 at 6:00 to 7:30pm EST.
This workshop is approved for 3 hours of on-going education for foster parents. A certificate of completion will be issued to all participants for self-reporting to other organizations.
