Peace Education Program to Provide Diversity Training and Non-Violent Conflict Resolution Skills to Area Youth
Teen Leaders for Diversity Camp
Tuesday, April 4 – Thursday, April 6, 9 am – 4 pm
The work of National Coalition Building Institute is the foundation of Peace Education Program’s diversity workshops for 12 – 17 year olds. Teens explore and deepen the basic skills around affirmation, communication and cooperation by teaching each other how to celebrate their difference, understand stereotypes and interrupt prejudicial acts, remarks and slurs. We share experiences that develop personal integrity, mutual respect, leadership skills and the capacity to sustain positive relationships across racial, religious and cultural differences.
This camp helps participants to: Get Along; Solve Problems Nonviolently; Respect differences; De-escalate conflicts; Work together in groups an Take responsibility for our actions.
The fee is $50 for each 3-day camp which includes snacks, lunch and materials.
