Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training for Oral Health Professionals

April 9, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join the Kentucky Oral Health Coalition for a free training on recognizing the signs of pediatric abusive head trauma and how to prevent child maltreatment. Every Kentucky adult is a mandated reporter of child abuse and we each can play a role in keeping kids safe in our community.

Oral health professionals play a unique and important role in the prevention, recognition, and reporting of child maltreatment. Join the Kosair Charities Face It Movement and Delta Dental of Kentucky for a FREE training on Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma prevention and recognition.

Pediatric abusive head trauma, or shaken baby syndrome, is a severe form of child abuse that most often involves infants. In this training, participants will learn the early signs of maltreatment and be provided with tools to report suspected abuse and help prevent it from happening in the first place.

FREE Continuing Education credits are available for dentists and dental hygienists.

REGISTER for the FREE virtual training with Carla Hay, pediatric forensic nurse from Kentucky Children’s Hospital, on Friday, April 9th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET.
