Pediatric abusive head trauma (AHT), or shaken baby syndrome, is a severe form of child abuse that most often involves infants. In these Pediatric Abusive Head Trauma Prevention & Recognition trainings, participants will learn the early signs of maltreatment and the various injuries and conditions that may result from vigorous shaking, slamming, or impacting the head of an infant or young child. They will also be provided tools for dealing with a crying infant and ways to share information with parents to prevent abuse from occurring.
This year we offered four virtual training options!
If you or your team hosted a community event or training, obtained a proclamation, posted on social media, or acknowledged TEN-4 Day in any other ways, please take 1-2 minutes to complete this form so that we can spotlight your efforts and continue to grow this national movement.
Every October, the Kosair for Kids’ Face It Movement brings awareness to the TEN-4-FACESp Bruising Rule with a media campaign and educational events surrounding October 4th — TEN-4 on 10/4. In 2025, Governor Andy Beshear, Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman, Kentucky Auditor of Public Accounts Allison Ball, and several mayors and county judge/executives proclaimed October 4th as TEN-4 Day. We also celebrate TEN-4 Day being recognized in several states!
TEN4Day.com highlights TEN-4 Day efforts across the country, shares the latest child maltreatment research and data, offers tools for technical assistance and support, identifies opportunities for collaboration, and more.
All Kentuckians are mandated reporters. If you believe a child is being abused or neglected, call the Child Protection Hotline.
